Hoang Taing’s Achievements

Following the brutal murders of her loved ones by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, Hoang overcame a series of obstacles to achieve an honored place in American society.

Her life in the U.S. has been a brilliant success. College graduate, honor student, White House intern, White House Fellowship Regional Finalist, Fulbright Fellow, Delta Kappa Gamma Scholar and Washington, D.C. Teaching Fellow are all among her impressive achievements.

Hoang followed those wins with receiving both the George Washington Medal of Honor and the “Asian Academy Hall of Fame & Distinction” award. In addition, she served as Commissioner on the Status of Women in Arlington, Virginia.

Hoang is featured on radio programs and in numerous newspaper and magazine articles. She has appeared in panel discussions alongside numerous prominent persons including presidential candidate and Senator John McCain of Arizona, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, Governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania, author Jack Canfield, astronaut Alan Bean, actor Andrew Shue, and ABC News Reporter Jonathan Karol.
